Our pipe coating plant is located adjacent to our pipe mill facility and is an industry leader for FBE, ARO and Internal Diameter coatings. Once again, this co-location provides not only convenience for our customers but cost savings as well. Any reduction in the need to transport pipe will have a positive impact on the overall cost of our product.The types of coatings that we can apply at our mill include Fusion Bond Epoxy and Abrasion Resistant Overlay coating (ARO) on the outside and High Solids liquid epoxy flow liner and corrosion protection ID lining for the inside. FBE and ARO are the primary outside diameter coatings used in North America to protect pipelines from corrosion.

FBE Coating
At customer request, our bare pipe is sent through a FBE (fusion bond epoxy) application coating process where the FBE coating is applied through state-of-the-art electrostatic application equipment. After coating pipe is cooled to desired test levels and the pipe surface is visually inspected for any coating surface, body and/or weld seam defects through our “holiday detection” process.

ARO Coating
ARO is an Abrasion Resistant Overlay coating applied only by customer request. If requested, this coating is applied in the same electrostatic manner as FBE coating and is applied immediately following the FBE coating process to provide an excellent “Dual Layer” application.

ID Flow-liner and Corrosion Protection Coatings
Pipe that is to receive internal coating is processed through a state-of-the-art automated ID coating system whereas the pipe is internally blasted and blown/vacuum cleaned to meet the specified cleanliness and profile levels..
